The Sandals of Grace

1. He Became Sin, So We Could Be Forgiven

2 Cor 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Grace means undeserved and unearned blessing, goodness and gift. Justified – to declare righteous in the sight of God .

Rom 3:23-24 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2. The Sandals of Grace Represents Brokenness Because of His Forgiveness

Lk 15:22-23 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. The son didn’t earn the sandals, he just received them. Blessings should break us and make us more humble because you know it was grace.

James 4:6 God resists the proud, But He gives more grace to the humble.

Prov 3:34-35 Surely he scorns the scornful, but gives grace to the humble. The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the legacy of fools.” A fool forgets the grace of God on His life. I never have bad days when I remember my house of bondage. We will be humbled through circumstances or in prayer.

Deut 8:14 When your heart is lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony – We are unashamed of our past because it keeps us broken.

3.The Sandals of Grace Help Us Stay Grateful - The attitude of gratitude.

Phil 4:12-13 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Paul’s powerful secret - if you’re not happy with what you have right now, you will never be happy with more. #contentment.

I may not be where I want to be, but thank God I’m not where I used to be.

4.The Sandals of Grace Helps Us To Believe God For a Greater Future

Is 54:4 “Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; Neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; For you will forget the shame of your youth, And will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.

Heb 11:6 Without faith it’s impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him.

Is 51: 1-2 ...Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug. Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him.”
