Ps 68:11 The Lord gave the word; Great was the company (army) of those who proclaimed it

• Company – An Army, A division of soldiers, A company, battalion

• God is called the Lord of Hosts or the God of the Armies

• The Lord is looking for great spiritual Armies at His command

Rev 19:14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.

1 Sam 22:2 everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him. So he became captain over them. And there were about four hundred men with him.

• David modeled what it meant to be enlisted as a soldier in the army

• Because David was a mighty man of valor, he was able to multiply it

Ps 18:28 You light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.

1 Sam 16:18 “Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the Lord is with him.”

Ex 3:9-10 the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. 10 Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel out of Egypt.

• The more we internalize the more fruitful we become 

Matt 13:58 He could not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief

Js 1:7-8 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Jn 15:7-8 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, youwill ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

Ps 140:7 O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle.

Ps 18:27 For You will save the humble people, But will bring down haughty looks (Soldiers obey orders - David taught them humility)

• Boot Camp – for a season your freedom is lost & submission is taught 

• Then Freedom is given back with much greater scope and influence 

• If you can’t submit to leaders you can see how can you submit to God who you can’t see, God puts leaders in place to govern for Him

Eph 4:11-12 He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ

Heb 13:17 Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit.

Js 4:7 submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

1 Pet 5:5-6 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time
