Authority and the Vision
1. Authority in Salvation – All Evangelism Begins With Prayer
Heb 5:7 Who in the days of the flesh, having offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears.
Gal. 4:19 My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you.
2 Cor. 4:3-4 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose mind the god of this age had blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
2. Authority to Establish Into a Lifestyle of Freedom (Deliverance)
Matt 17:14-21 And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. So I brought him to your disciples, but they could not cure him.” Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
● Developing spiritual authority is a product of what we meditate on (Faith comes by hearing and hearing the voice of God)
● Payer and fasting in order to allow our spirit to receive faith
● The authority gets us free and keeps us free, and it will free others
John 8:32 “and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave to sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
3. Authority to Disciple into the Character of Christ
Matt 28:18-19 And jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given tot me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
● The fear of the Lord and our love for Him is key for discipleship
● “Follow me and I will make you” – this must come from your spirit
● Every leader is tempted with insecurity, this is why we need God
● The vision of discipleship will protect itself, God will never allow us to be fruitful on our own
Matt. 4:19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
1 Cor. 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ
John 15:5-8 “I am the vine, and you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and my words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so then you will be My disciples.”
4. Authority to Multiply – In Jesus Name I multiply Every Quarter
Ps. 35:11 “I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply”
Gen. 1:26-28 So God created man in His own image, and in the image of God He created him; male and female he created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Acts 6:7 and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly
Gen. 28:3 And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people
Ps. 35:11 Also God said to him: “I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall proceed from you, and kings shall come from your body.
Gen. 48:4 and said to me, “Behold, I will make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will make of you a multitude of people, and give this land to your descendants after you as an everlasting possession.
Gen. 22”17 That in blessing thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and they seed shall possess the gate of his enemies
Gen. 26:4 And I will make thy seed multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all nations of the earth be blessed
Gen. 26:24 And the Lord appeared unto him the same night, and said, “I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham’s sake.”
